for Refining Yellow Gold Filled. Our policies

are set with regard to our customer’s best

interest. An amount of YGF under 250 dwt

or 389 gm may not yield enough to

warrant refining and could cost you money.

G&S Metals and Refiners charge a $50

Refining fee for under this amount.

G&S Metals and Refiners’ accountability for YGF is 90%. Because YGF is variable, it is difficult to estimate a return. There is usually a larger after melt loss in YGF than in karat gold which contributes to its variance. YGF traditionally assays between 2% and 4%. With a small amount of YGF, our customer could end up owing G&S Metals and Refiners money.
